Job Title: Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)

Responsibilities of the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM):
McLane Advanced Technologies is seeking a highly qualified Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to lead the cybersecurity and information assurance program for the U.S. Army’s Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ISSM will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of TAMIS information systems, maintaining compliance with DoD, Army, and federal cybersecurity policies, and guiding the program through the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle.

The ISSM will:
  • Serve as the principal advisor on all matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of TAMIS information systems, providing expert guidance to leadership, system owners, and technical teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the TAMIS Information Assurance (IA) and cybersecurity program in accordance with DoD 8140/8570, Army regulations, NIST SP 800-53, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation, submission, and maintenance of Assessment & Authorization (A&A) documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Security Controls Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), and other artifacts required for Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Lead continuous monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response activities, ensuring timely identification, reporting, and mitigation of security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure all system security measures comply with applicable government policies, including Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP), and configuration management best practices.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, security audits, and technical inspections to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses, ensuring all security features applied to TAMIS are implemented and functional.
  • Collaborate with Army stakeholders, cybersecurity teams, and external partners to support compliance, security event response, and system accreditation efforts.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging cyber threats, DoD/Army policy changes, and security technologies relevant to the TAMIS environment.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and oversight to Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) and other cybersecurity personnel supporting TAMIS.
  • Support the development and execution of contingency, disaster recovery, and incident response plans for TAMIS.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required; Top Secret/SCI preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in information systems security management, with at least 3 years as an ISSM or equivalent in a DoD or Army environment.
  • Industry-recognized certifications required:
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
    • Security+ CE, CASP+, CISM, or equivalent DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level III or IAM Level III certification.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing RMF, NIST SP 800-53 controls, STIGs, and security compliance for DoD classified and unclassified systems.
  • Experience preparing and maintaining ATO packages and leading successful system accreditations.
  • Strong technical skills in vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus, ACAS), security event monitoring (e.g., Splunk), and configuration management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Army and DoD cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills; ability to brief senior leadership and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required, including to potentially hostile locations.
