Job Title: Control Systems Cybersecurity Specialist
Responsibilities of the Control Systems Cybersecurity Specialist: EDC Consulting LLC (EDC) is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Cybersecurity Specialist with expertise in operational technology (OT) integration, control systems, and cybersecurity to join our team. As a Control Systems Cybersecurity Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the US Air Force's control systems cybersecurity initiatives by developing policies, guidance, and programmatic documents. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to provide analysis, recommendations, and oversight for control systems governance and cybersecurity processes.
The Control Systems Cybersecurity Specialist will:
Coordinate, consolidate, and maintain control systems governance and programmatic documents.
Develop action plan recommendations, task responses, and inquiry responses.
Perform analysis and provide recommendations for control systems cybersecurity, including Industrial Control Systems (ICS) such as SCADA systems, PLCs, DCS, and HMIs.
Conduct open source and government research to develop white papers and slide presentations.
Provide detailed updates to leadership and stakeholders through meetings and forums.
Engage with Department of the Air Force (DAF) and Department of Defense (DoD) Functional Experts to define collaborative control systems processes and procedures.
Ensure Civil Engineer (CE) Control Systems Authorizing Official (AO) is informed of Air Force control systems Risk Management Framework (RMF) program actions.
Coordinate and maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) documents for secure control systems operations.
Provide guidance and program oversight to CE enterprise users on program execution and implementation.
Track DAF control system cyber assessment vulnerability mitigation progress and enter relevant data into DAF and Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) databases.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facility-related control systems such as building management systems or HVAC control systems, coupled with operational technology experience/expertise. Additional qualifications include:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a facilities discipline (preferably mechanical or civil engineering).
Minimum of ten (10) years' experience in Operational Technology integration, cybersecurity, and control systems applications.
Familiarity with control system cybersecurity principles, including ICS security or OT security.
Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Experience: Candidates with the following experiences or certifications are highly desirable:
Headquarters-level experience in developing policy and guidance for senior Air Force approval.
Air Force Civil Engineer experience (officer-level preferred but not required).
Participation in DoD Control Systems Resilience Readiness Exercises facilitated by MIT Lincoln Labs (MIT-LL).
Service as an Air Force fellow with Idaho National Labs (INL).
Work experience at or with the Air Force Civil Engineer Center Operations Directorate (AFCEC/CO), Tyndall AFB, FL or the US Army Corps of Engineers Control System Cybersecurity Mandatory Center of Expertise (CSC-MCX), Huntsville, AL.
Membership in the Building Cyber Security nonprofit organization.
Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) certification.
